The Tamron 70-300mm macro lens

May 19, 2017

I've had this lens in my bag for years but rarely use it, I've always thought of it as a "one-day" lens (I'll find a use for it one day). To give it it's full title, the lens I'm talking about is the
Tamron AF 70-300mm F4/5.6 Di LD Macro 1:2
priced at around £80 and it's a fantastic lens!

At 300mm the lens is sharp enough for

squirrel whiskers and gives beautiful bokeh.

The auto focus is fast, accurate and performs well

with fast moving subjects,

particularly helpful for sports & wildlife.

It's a lightweight, quiet, comfortable lens and allows

you to get to those finer details like the individual

feathers of down and the pupil of a gosling.

A versatile lens at that delivers great results at every focal length,

the Macro function doesn't disappoint either.

All in all a versatile, comfortable, quick, quiet, lightweight lens. Perfect for anyone looking to expand their lens reach and experiment with macro and/or wildlife. Widely available for around £80-£100 and definitely a lens I'd recommend to anyone getting into photography.
